Overview

A rare lowland jungle expedition through Royal Manas National Park, tracking wildlife by foot, river, and raft.

A rare lowland jungle expedition through Royal Manas National Park, tracking wildlife by foot, river, and raft. This 10-day journey is led by Bhutanese guides who know the places and the people. Day by day: Overland to Gelephu; Drive to Gomphu eco-camp; Trek to Pangtang; Trek to Shilingtoe; Trek to Panbang via caves & waterfall; Rafting & fishing on the Dangme Chhu; and more across 10 days. The full itinerary with each day's details is on this page. This is a nature and wildlife journey, led by a guide who knows the habitats. Bhutan protects more than half of its land as parks and reserves, which makes it one of the best places in the Himalaya to see wildlife. The difficulty is moderate. You should be comfortable walking for several hours on uneven ground and at altitude, but no technical experience is needed. Every Droelma Tours & Travels journey is arranged with a licensed Bhutanese guide, a private vehicle and driver where roads allow, and accommodation planned in advance, and we help with your Bhutan visa and permits. Departure dates and group size can be adjusted — send us an enquiry and we will tailor the itinerary to your dates and interests.
